Ludlow Side Hill Cronchers

The 10-28-06 meeting of the Ludlow Side Hill Cronchers Snowmobile Club was called to order by Vice President Kondracki at 6:40 PM. The meeting was held at Rick and Cindy Yuris' with 10 members present.

The September 27, 2006 minutes, upon a motion by Rick Yuris, seconded by Scott Grover, were accepted as presented.

The Treasurers Report, upon a motion by Rick Yuris, seconded by Cindy Yuris, was accepted as presented.

Correspondence was read into the record by Doug Peabody.

Under trails the following was reported:

a) South Hill Trail - Steve Kondracki reported that the work that remains is still excavation, seeding, haying and sign installation. Ted Stryhas has advised he will have the excavating done this week.

b) Mount Holly Trail - no report

c) Steve Kondracki reported that he, Bruce Ingerson, Pete Strazza and Doug Peabody installed a new culvert on Nelson Road as the original had washed out. Capacity has been increased.

Under groomer it was reported that a new hour meter will be installed by a factory mechanic. Missy Waysville has met with Ted Stryhas and reports that we can use his satellite phone this winter by paying the monthly charges. Terry Ellison will price out a system where the phone is mounted in the groomer as opposed to bringing it from a building charger to the groomer each time we go out. There were no reports on the radio system upgrades or the additional safety equipment for the groomer.

Under unfinished business Rick Yuris reported that there will be a delay in getting the Web Cam installed as it did not perform as expected during testing. The Rescue Sled grant of $5,000.00 for the Ludlow Fire Department has been received from VAST. A motion by Doug Peabody, seconded by Terry Ellison to have our President and the Fire Chief plan a presentation event was passed. A report on the September Chicken BBQ was presented and upon a motion by Terry Ellison, seconded by Scott Grover accepted as presented. A report was given on the Snowmobile Safety Course given by Safety Officer Ron Bixby. There were twelve students in attendance. The club provided lunch to attendees. Steve Kondracki reported that to date we have sold 8 chords and 2 pickup truck loads of the wood donated by John Murphy. There are approximately 6 more chords to split; crews will try to finish that this coming week. Doug Peabody reported that the new decals have been ordered.

Under new business Terry Peabody reported that the she and Missy Waysville have finished preparing membership forms and vendor boxes. Applications will be mailed this coming week and all vendor boxes will be distributed. An add stating that the TMA's are available has been sent to local newspapers and public television station.

In accordance with club policy the Volunteer reduced cost TMA's were discussed. There were no specific nominations from the floor however upon a motion by Doug Peabody, seconded by Terry Ellison it was voted to leave the designation of Volunteer TMA recipients up to Membership Chairman Missy Waysville and President John Murphy with priority given to landowners that snowmobile. The annual club raffle is in the preparation stage. Rick Yuris will be meeting with Missy Waysville this week to get this effort in full swing. The activities committee asked for and received suggestions for winter events. A schedule and budget will be presented at the next meeting. A club newsletter was presented by Cindy Yuris. Upon a motion by Terry Ellison, seconded by Doug Peabody it was voted to adopt the newsletter and send it to all members with e-mail and post it on our web site. Cindy was thanked for taking the initiative to create and maintain this membership service. Cindy Yuris is working on a club scrap book that was given to the club by Polly Ellison. Polly started the scrapbook when the club first formed. Cindy reports that it contains valuable information about the beginning of our organization. Because of the age of some of the documents great care is being taken to preserve them.

The next meeting will be scheduled by President Murphy and held at a location to be announced.

The trails legally open on December 16th this year.

Upon a motion by Terry Ellison, seconded by Randy Ellison the meeting was adjourned at 7:47 PM.
